Dodge Neon Performance

Ok, My 1997 Dodge Neon 2.0Litre SOHC is totally stock. Im gonna make it look better body wise before I do any engine work because I know a guy that put about $7000 in bolt-on add-ons such as cam gears, intake, etc. and only gained about 25 Hp. So when I go for horsepower, im going all the way. I would like to know some suggestions of things to get such as cams, crank, pistons etc. but for cheap,im only 17. I can get pacesetter Headers for $149.99 and Borla Exhaust for $229.99. If you can find a site that sells these cheaper, le me know because that means more than likely everything is cheap. Thanks, Matt a.k.a. Xtreme.

thats funny 7,000 and only gain 25 hp.. i know a guy that spent 5000 and has 210whp and 190lbft on 2.0L DOHC n/a. Lol.. even worse are all the turbo cars that have 3000-6000 invested that run low 14s to low 11s.

did that guy have his car dyno'd? b/c auto manufacturers rate the hp @ the flywheel, for instance i have a 2003 mitsubishi eclipse GS, rated @ 142hp (the AT tranny) but when dyno'd i have about 108. soo hopefully he understands that. besides he should be able to tell how big of a boost he got by way of how the car feels, should he not?

Re: Dodge Neon Performance

For $7000 he should have turbo'd it, guarentee he would have gotten at least 25hp gain, lol...Also, PaceSetter headers can be had off of eBay, new in box, for cheaper than that, although I'm not sure how much, also, do not get the black header, it will peel, I have seen many PaceSetter headers and everyone has peeled, besides, the chrome looks better anyways...
