Dodge Neon R/T Mopar Performance ECU...feasable on a 2GNT?

I was just wondering if anyone knew whether or not the Mopar Performance ECU for the 95-99 Dodge Neon R/T (Also has the 420a) would work in a 2G non-turbo with the 420a? I'm pretty sure it would..maybe I'd have to swap Eproms, but still. It has a 7800rpm limiter, air/fuel curves are more aggressive, and is tuned to run on Premium gas. I have a 57mm TB, Header, full exhaust, 10.5mm wires, Iridium plugs, etc... but It's still not as quick as I'd like from a N/A point of view. I'm adding a sheet-metal Intake Plenum, ACCEL Injectors/Fuel Rail, and a 75-shot Direct-Port Nitrous Injection system, so I'm definitely needing more computer programming than comes in a stock ECU...Any help would be appreciated!!!

I'm thinking you need something more like an AFC for tuning that... Maybe an MSD box too...

Re: Dodge Neon R/T Mopar Performance ECU...feasable on a 2GNT?

you're probably right, but I'm lazy and definitely stupid when it comes to that...lol. I built a 98 Neon R/T and put the Mopar Performance ECU in it, and I couldn't believe the difference it made. That's why I'm hoping that it will work. (I pulled the ECU before selling the Neon in hopes that it would work in my Eclipse).

On top of that, we have NO good performance shops around here that would even begin to know what they were doing with programming and AFC or anything along those lines. So here I am doing it all by myself. Any ideas or suggestions?

Re: Dodge Neon R/T Mopar Performance ECU...feasable on a 2GNT?

Well, I can not tell you if it will work or not. I don't carry much knowledge about the 420a's at all. I am more of a 4g63 man myself.

The AFC is actually quite simple to wire up and once you look around in the menus you can see how easy it is to adjust the fuel for every 500rpm... I think it would work better in your case where you are giving it plenty of air and the ability to have more fuel but it doesn't know when to give it more...

Also, the MSD high output boxes will give it a nice strong spark. I think that shall help it with all the adding of fuel and not to mention the nitrous.

If he rigged up a SAFC, he wouldnt really need the Mopar performce ECU. I say just try to put it in there and see, as far as I know they are same shit different car.

Come on Mike, you can't be serious here... We have discussed the whole DSM manufactuars history on here before. They should be the same, but no guarentees.

Since you already have the ECU and swapping ECU's is like a 10 minute job why do you just go do it?

Re: Dodge Neon R/T Mopar Performance ECU...feasable on a 2GNT?

That's kinda what I figured...I'll try it this weekend and see what happens. But, I'll also look at my options of an SAFC and decide if I think I can do it all. Thanks, guys!
