Prospective MR2 or maybe S13 240SX???

Hey guys, since you guys have way more experience with MR2s than me, I was just wondering. What do you think about a

1991 MR2 Turbo T-top, around 86k miles, normal wear and tear in the interior, and normal paint fade (nothing major), for around 7200? Is that a good deal? Or are there much better deals around?

Thanks for any help guys?

By the way, how about this?
I'm basically considering a 1993 240SX (S13) with around 103k miles, the car will cost about $1500-$1800 but it needs about $600 to get it running good. I want to drop in about another $3500 and see how that goes?

What do you guys think? Which car is easier to maintain, more enjoyable? whatever advice/input you guys have would be great. Thanks a lot.

Re: Prospective MR2 or maybe S13 240SX???

im in the market for an MR2...

anyways, i would think the 240 would be funner but the MR2 would be much more easier to maintain, after all, its a toyota. they are known for their reliability

240's always get busted

i dont know about the whole fun thing... the mr2 being mid engine has a tendency to have its rear swing out causing oversteer on turns... most people think this is a con for the car, but i think it makes the ride more enjoyable and the overstear is easily corrected... of course it all comes down to what you prefer in the end... i would say just test drive both cars... 83k miles is relatively low for a turbo 1991 as most i have seen have arround 150k miles... and both cars should be pretty reliable as they are both good companies

The 240 is very balanced and forgiving, but the ride is very boring to me, and the car is underpowered.

The ride of the MR2 makes you consider the steering wheel your own "Oh Sh** Handle"

Its just too much fun...
