Unhappy Please Help!!!!!!

I wrote a thread prior to this one and am at the mercy of you all because this is my first Prelude (86` 2.0Si). I love this car and it`s in great shape. I`m looking for ANYONES opinion on motor swap, keep it and make what mods. Parts seem hard to find for this year of motor (H20). Please read my previous thread and shed some light on this Lude lover......

Re: Please Help!!!!!!

First off, if your car is from 1986, you have a second generation Prelude. I think you have the b20a motor, not an H series. In any case, if it's the fuel injected engine, then it's a rather good engine. If you want it fast, then look into a turbo. For the meantime, do the standard mods: intake and exhaust. You could do some custom fabrication on these two, they are very easy and they work. If not, try searching around google or ebay for parts. Older Preludes have a very limited selection. If you want it fast, you can look into a turbocharger. The older generations are actually better for boost than these newer high compression ones.

If you've got any more questions, feel free to ask away. There's no such thing as a dumb question.

Like Ace says. You can find all kinds of mods on ebay for your 86.

Thanks for replying to me. I`ll check the motor spec, i`m sure you`re right though. After all that`s why i came here. The motor, if unrebuildt, has about 200,000 on it but has no oil leaks or use at all. Here is my engine family id #, if it helps out on what it is:GHN2.0V5FRF0. What would you suggest would be a good turbo to put on it? Again, thank both of you for replying and AcesHigh, i read your post on VTEC and NON-VTEC, very informative.............

Re: Please Help!!!!!!

Come to think about it, your car might even be old enough to be of the EK series. You can figure out what kind of engine you have from your VIN. Just run it through carfax (www.carfax.com). If you're ambitious, the engine code is printed somewhere on the engine block. Typically near the exhaust manifold part. I don't recognize what that engine family ID number is supposed to be.

Your car is pretty old, and a swap seems to be a better option at this point that a turbocharger. I would get everything running like new again with some maintenance. When and if you do want to run one, I always suggest the T3/T4 hybrid for prospective turbo owners.
