Re: I'm back ...but naked!

get a nissan sentra se-r spec v. I think those cars look hella nicer than any neon and they run sub 14 seconds stock. I'm not sure on the price tho.

I thought it had an open differential?! Anyway, I really like the mazdaspeed protege. They aren't as fast, but they are a better all around car. The SRT isn't exactly an autocrosser by nature, but I guess it's not really anything a couple of bars and braces wouldn't fix. They are definately quick, and I like the seats. Good luck with whatever.

Oh, and on the above post... The SE-R is a nice car, but it is more in the mid 15 second range. They right at 18k I believe.

Re: I'm back ...but naked!

No fuckin way can a Sentra se-r run under 14 second quarter bone stock. Maybe high 14 stock, but definately not high 13's. I think the se-r looks nicer and the interior is nicer than the SRT but if you're going for a fast car the SRT would be able to do that. They respond very well to mods.

Re: I'm back ...but naked!

SER is a piece of crap compared to its competition

most run low to mid 15's you need a very very good driver to break high 14's with them BONE stock and then still i think they perform poorly for the power the motor is supposed to have

Re: I'm back ...but naked!

i'M 100% positive I saw those numbers in an old issue of SCC or SS. It was when they tested all the new cars coming out. The SE-R SPEC V had a 13.9 1/4. Maybe it was modded? But i believe they were all stock. They have 180 HP and 180 TQ right?

I know which one you are talking about it was the issue that had the 560hp white project 300zx on the cover.

The test was the best performance sport compact car for under 20k. They actually only got a 15.9 out of the SE-R, but said that they have seen it pull a couple of 15.5s in other test.

Well about the se-r. ITs a slow car stock but i was actually thinkin about getting the car and turbo it. Not a bad car IMO.

Protege is not worth it. From what i heard they installed the turbo once the shipment arrived. SO that kinda pushed me away. About the srt-4. You're talkin about the '03 models. That ran 14.1. THe lsd sucked. So now thanks to quife lsd on the '04 model the car put down more to the wheel and it banged high 13s.

So you are saying that the Protege's powerplant was engineered for N/A applications and they just slapped a turbo on it? Or are you just saying that they were dealer installed, as opposed to being equiped from the factory?
