??300zx front strutbar question??
You guys may know I have a '90 Z 4 seater and that I'm a nut for handling... well, I bought some cheapo strut bars to tide me over until I can afford a better brand. Well, I have no complaints about the rear strut-bar, but I have problems with hood clearance for the front! I cannot shut my hood down al the way w/o forcing it! I'm concerned the pressure of the hood on the bar will eventually pop the hood open while I'm driving... and I can not have this when I'm driving at excessive speeds! You guys dig?
I heard that hood clearance is a big problem with aftermarket front strut bars... also that the best way to combat this was to 'cut' some of the hood's under bracing! I do not really want to 'cut' or do away with anything on my hood... I also have concerns because I want to add a carbon-fiber hood in the near future! Are there any after-market front strut-bars that will 'fit' nicely under my stock hood? I was looking at maybe getting a STILLEN... front-strut bars are hard to find! CUSCO and NISMO do not make them and I can't find another quality strut-bar!!! PLEASE HELP! Any info would be appreciated!

I know they are not cheap but save up for the Carbing, once you see this one the others are a piece of crap.

They are about 260.00 and got them from sgp racing http://store.yahoo.com/sgpracing-sto...6nis30pro.html they got a shipment in December don't know if they still have any but they get shipments from Japan regularly.
The only issue is that it is a tight fit with the engine cover, some have had to remove it, some cut a slot mine just squeezed it doen some, but there is NO issues witht he hood, I tried one of those others and it hit the hood and wouldn't close right. The Carbing look great and fit great, I also got the rear but just because I wanted to keep the same make, but that is just my anal personality, I would buy the cheaper ones for the rear. Here is a pic of the rear.
