k this guy at school wants to race me, he has a 240sx (one of the newer models) and apparantly stock. (me, i have a 97 del sol si stock) the main thing is hes apparantly quite a good driver, and me... well ive been driving stick for 5 days now. But anyways my question is do you think i could put on at least a decent show? (btw his 240 is manual)

If you're not comfortable with driving a manual normally (takes a while to drive one naturally), then probably not worth the risk to your transmission.

Plus. the 240SX is rear wheel drive and I believe has more HP than Del Sol's, so it's a lopsided race to begin with. I wouldn't waste your time with him. He's just looking for an easy target to boost his ego and show off. Plus, street racing is a bad idea anyway. Get comfortable with the car and then if you want to race him take it to a track.

ha i just raced him on the way back home with my friend, i killed him off the line but about 5th gear he started to pull on me, he was about a bumper past me till i had to slam on brakes to let him ino my lane because of on comming traffic, overall it was a very enjoyable 1st race.

Quit street racing before you destroy another del Sol. And yes I said sol and not you. I feel no pity for the people who get injured street racing. They know it's stupid. I feel bad for the cars, though. So, that said, thread locked, and I'm going to start locking street racing threads. There's plenty of forums dedicated to that scene. Post your track kill stories.. not street.
