88 525i central locking probs

hey again.. maybe you guys could help me out with this one..
central locking worked before.. then drivers side door got screwdrivered now c/locking no longer works! have checked the fusible link, thats ok. Have taken up back seat and found bunch of fuses/relays and modules.. one of the 7.5 amp fuses had blown, so replaced this but no joy.. was wondering if any of those 2 black modules worked the central locking, if not, where is the control module for the central locking and the relays for it..
thnx guys

If your 525i is an E28, the central locking module is in the trunk, about as far back in the car as you can get. I had an '86 528e, and what you need to do is 1) open the trunk, 2) get in the trunk and face out of the trunk (away from the front of the car), and 3) remove the three plastic tacks that hold in the carpeting trim piece in front of you (this is on the opposite side of the trunk as the taillights). The module is a black (?) fixture screwed to the metal near the center of the back trunk panel (on the other side of the metal your license plate is affixed to). From this point I can't help you.

Again, this applies for sure only if your car is an E28 ('82-'88). If it's an E34 (like I thought American 525i's were), then I'm not sure if this is true.
