2000-01 Heads and Tails on a 1999?

Anyone out there know if it would be possible to take 2000 or 2001 Camry headlights and taillights and put them on a 1999 Camry, or would there have to be modifications done? I know for the taillights that I would have to go and get a trunk lid off of a 2000 or 2001 and mount the lights in that. So is there anyone out there who's either tried to do this, or wanted to do this, or even gave it any thought? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Dude, For the tails your gonna have to mod the whole back half, same goes with the front.

For the headlights you need a new wiring harness, new bumper, new grille, new turn signals, of course new headlights. Then your gonna have to drill new holes to mount the bumper, new bracket for the grille.

Too much work involed.

Damn...that does sound like a whole bunch of work to do...I have to replace all of the front panels on my Camry anyways, I wrecked it pretty bad, I just got the unibody redone on it, so I was hoping to find out whether or not it was possible. I was thinking just ordering the whole 00-01 front end and painting and installing it, since I'm going to have to get new parts anyways. Also, I know for the back end that I would have to go and get a 00-01 trunk lid and lights to put on the car, but do you know if the trunk and hood will actually close, or would I have to move the latch assembly? Thanks for the info.

The trunk will fit with no problems, your lights will just look funky, cause the outside corners also for the 4.5 are also different

Damn...that really sucks...well, thanks for your advice, although it sounded like an interesting project to tackle, I guess I'll just have to stick with my lousy assed lights I've got now, either that or go and buy me a 2000. Thanks again.

I'd actually like to have that whole front end on my Camry...although, if you want those headlamps, maybe you should contact Sportivo Concepts and see if he can help you...
