i bought a 300zx 2+2 about 6 months ago. this car is stock as hell except for small upgrades that dont make much of a noticable difference.my friend owns a 350z and we raced about 4 times in an 1/8 and i beat him all for times varying by about a cars length to about a few hairs. how is this possible because from what i know 350z have about 285 hp compared to mine which has around 245? he cant be that bad of a racer because he has been driving his car longer then me. the only thing i can think of is my car has a better off the line start then the 350z.

Re: my 1991 300zx 2+2 beats a 2002 350z.
Try it on the quarter mile... the results may be a lil' different. But regardless... I'm surprised! Do you have AT or MT? Your Friend? And the Z has more like 220HP...

222hp stock. The only way to get up in 245hp range, your talking Intake system, headers, and exhaust. That would place him up in that range wouldnt it 1viadrft?

If your friend 350Z was an automatic that might be the reason or it could be the fact that the 350Z has HORRIBLE traction off the line, I have driven my uncles plenty of time and it does not stick to the ground, thats why they are such great drift cars.
