Re: MAX vs DODGE NEON

eh it could happen if...the max was a 87....or if it was a 89-91 se....or if it was a 95-99 and he miss 2nd 3rd and 4th....and maybe the neon had a very bad redlight....unless its an r/t it beat me but i have an auto max, but not as bad as a stock 5spd max did

Well, hell no, it won't beat a Vette, unless you're talking someone's Magazine racer times or some fantasy some guy had on the Neon board.

I believe Frosty has 3 videos of his Turbo 2k Max smoking the Neon SRT and on the videos you can clearly see the SRT running mid 14's at best, so there isn't a snowballs chance in hell of a Neon SRT beating a Vette.

I hope the Vette guys don't come here thinking we all believe that a stock SRT Neon would beat a Vette.

Car and Driver never said that a SRT4 neon would beat a vette..
The vette is 4.6 - 4.8 0 to 60. The 04 SRT4 is faster than the 03
SRT4. I just read in Car and Driver that the 04 SRT4 now gets
0 to 60 in 5.3 seconds. The new vette that is now comming out is
supposed to be much faster, 0 to 60 4.2 or so.

i think performance per dollar id bet the vette is the best car u can buy especiallythe Z06 thats getting even better withthe C6 i said 0-60 i think a SRT-4 will beat a vette. As for the 0-60 times on the SRT-4 vs. the Z06 i dont know the times on that one.

I dont think a SRT4 can beat the current vette, even though
they are both gonna be pretty close. The Z06 0 to 60 is around
4.1.

I'd Rather get a Mercedes E55 AMG, which goes 0-60 in 4.2 seconds. And it's a sedan. Gotta love German Engineering.

Re: MAX vs DODGE NEON

i test drove a 2003 neon r/t and told the dealer i wasted my time on that BS. i have a 96max, 5sp. the 2003 would never see the time of day, so theres no way a 95 would come close, by the way i smoke tem all the time. put it back in the league with the civics and accords

Re: MAX vs DODGE NEON

Re: MAX vs DODGE NEON

i have had my 96 maxima for 4 years. i have only had v8s since i was 16. i am very imppressed with the perfomance i get from my 5sp. Max. I never go to the track, but i smoke ALL cars in my class on I-285 in Atl. a dealer told me the maximas horsepower is truly underated, for those who dont have maximas. and i believe it. does anyone know what top speed is for the 1996 year? mines is governed at 120mph, but i can easily bypass it by diconnecrting the speedometer. I get 120 in 4th gear at 4000~4300 rpm. when i disconnect the speedometer hit 120 in 4th, then shift to 5th, it is another world. i was racing a ZX9 ninja (just 4 fun) to see how fast i was going, he said i was doing at least 145mph. I burnt 2002 Volvo S80, 2000 gran prix gtp or gtx(whatever), 325 bimmer, 2003 dodge hemi truck, ran with a 96 impala SS(top end)and many others mention. all i did was take out the stock air box, and put a cone air filter in. a full tank used to give me 388 mile, with that new air filter i get 410~420 mi per tank, and when its raining i can spin thru 5th gear(no lie) i always catch 2nd, and sometime 3rd. whats the real deal with this car? its it truly underrated, and what the top speed ungoverned?
[b]AND WHY IS THE INSURANCE SO DAMN HIGH

Insurance? The car is advertised like a sports car. It's powered like a sports car. Hell, it's hard to act right in a car that does 80mph at 2500rpm's(gen4auto). Every driver of a Gen 4 or above I have ever seen on the freeway is passing people, and we don't even have to be anywhere. We cannot be contained. It's the car! It makes us act this way.

Re: MAX vs DODGE NEON

How in the world does this do anything for your speed limit? The speed/top speed of your car is governed by a computer/CPU not by a connection to your speedometer.
Can you explain in detail what you mean?
