Would it be good to know Japanese, or can you get around fairly well just speaking English?

Re: Temporary Employment in Japan

You would be fine here with just English. Only about 5% of the Americans and other gaijin speak Japanese.

If selected, there will be plenty of time for Brian to maintain his Mod status. We got 3 computers and 512meg broadband, so he should be ok. Besides, this way he and the NZ mods will be on the same time zone!!

Re: Temporary Employment in Japan

I will have an export coordinator position opening up late in the summer, but it wil require a residency status. I am not operating near Tokyo as of now due to the high cost of living, rent, etc. I purchase many cars from the auctions in that area, but it is economical to have them shipped here and sold vice shipped from Yokohama Port.

I'm not able to take you up on this offer but for those of us who don't know, what does 150,000 JPY per month equal in $US?

Re: Temporary Employment in Japan

Damn, that's not much, considering you have to provide your own plane fare to Japan.
