Exclamation Temporary Employment in Japan

Ok, Moderators, feel free to move this post to the correct location.

I am a used vehicle dealer in Japan. I am presently looking for temporary help for the months of May, June, July, and August. I have a small dealership south of Hiroshima located very close to Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni. My primary customer base are Marines and Sailors stationed there.
I am looking for someone to assist in the detailing and upkeep of vehicles, minor maintenace and customer service. It is hot and humid here and there is a large workload, so it is real work.

Here are the rules:
1. You must provide own transportation to any airport in Japan. At that time we will come and pick you up. You must provide your own tranportation from any airport in Japan.
2. You must obtain a VALID Internation Drivers License from AAA. (AAA only will be accepted by my insurance carrier)
3. You must be at least 18 Years old.
4. You must be neat in appearance, and have moderate to excellent customer service skills.
5. You do not have to speak Japanese.
6. You may partake in alcohol while under my employ, but absolutely NO DRUGS.
7. You must have a valid passport. You will only be able to remain in country for 90 days.

You will be provided:
1. Room and board.
2. 150,000 JPY per month
3. 2 Off days per week
4. The opportunity to visit several Japanese Auto Auctions, Parts suppliers, and such.
5. The opportunity to drive many Japanese Vehicles (GTR's are definitely here, and you WILL get to drive one)
6. A cellular phone for local Japanese calls only.

The work day is from 0900-1900. We work weekends, and are off on Wednesday. You will recieve one additional day off per week. There are street races, drifting, and many other car related activities near to here. There are also many Japanese cultural sites you may wish to visit.

This is a serious inquiry. You must submit a resume and picture (I don't care if you are a good typer, or what format you send it in as long as I can pull it up in Microsoft Office XP to :[email protected]

Thanks

Mark

I had to fix a few things above. I messed up the hours (0900-1900) and I will accept US, Canada, Puerto Rico, England, New Zealand, Austrailian, and most other English speaking people.

Re: Temporary Employment in Japan

Talk to JOJO about me...
Depends on your availablility. I need an employee during that time frame due to the Military rotation schedule. That is when school ends for the kids so the families move to different bases. Probably from the middle to end of May on...
This is no joke.

Re: Temporary Employment in Japan

As long as you can get into the country LEGALLY for 3 months, and you have a valid international drivers license, I will consider you.
NOTE: I WILL NOT ACCEPT AN INTERNATIONAL DRIVERS LICENSE ISSUED BY IDL INTERNATIONAL. THEY ARE NOT ACCEPTED BY MY INSURANCE CARRIER AS THERE HAVE BEEN AN EXCESS OF COUNTERFIET AND FRADULENT ONES IN THIS COUNTRY.

You don't have to be a US resident. You MUST speak english well.

Re: Temporary Employment in Japan

Not to spoil anybody's fun, but maybe this discussion would be more appropriate for the PM system?

Re: Temporary Employment in Japan

True, but I would like this thread to remain long enough for people to see it, and if it becomes PM only, it will quickly sink to the bottom of the AF ocean, never to be heard from again. Besides, what he has brought up are valid points other people may also want to know, therefore replying here prevents me from answering the same question 10 times via PM.

Thanks

Mark

I am alos seriously interested, I'm looking for summer work and you've made an inticing offer.

I'll use PM's from now on, but I'm in a very similar situation to Brian ( I live a few hours north) and I have all the requirements.

Oooh, this is exciting.

Edit: I just read it's only one person, this could get competitve...

Re: Temporary Employment in Japan

Damn, sounds tempting, but I speak no Japanese, I don't know when I'll get citizenship, and the last job I had was a car groomer and detailer, which I hated...however, if it's gonna be GT-R's and Supras

Man, what an awesome experience this would be.

Re: Temporary Employment in Japan

Please feel free to PM me with personal questions, but if you think it is a question other people may have, by all means please ask it here as I can give the answer one time.
I can only hire one person as of right now, but this too may change and I will keep you updated as things progress. I will leave this topic up as long as I can, and probably be ready to make a decision by Feb. 10th.
Good Luck, and please, if you have a question about anything at all related to this, just ask.

Mark

Re: Temporary Employment in Japan

Let's keep this thread as PMing will not get the word out about this very unique opportunity for the AFers.
