The more i hear this the more i believe the VW's you get in the US are in no way, shape or form related to the ones we get in Europe. Two of our cars are VW's and they're both built like tanks. Not very quick, but great build quality...

jay take what you hear here with a grain of salt. true the VW's here might not be quite at the euro levels where they aquired a well deserved reputation as tanks, however they are still good car.

Unfortunatelly the biases for japanese cars are so strong in the US that people consider even german cars as crappy in comparison. Heck i've seen BMWs called inferior to japanese models.
