Colour match for Ferrari Red?

Does anyone know the closest Halfords colour for the Ferrari Red ( the common red ).

And also for the yellow (as found on the 360).

Thanks alot.

Rossa Corsa (Racing Red) is the common red... it's the same as Ford Radiant Red which Halfords do in cans. Use it over a white primer (or pink if you can get it). This isn't the same as the current F1 'Malboro' red-orange which is much brighter, closer to orange. Best I can do for that is Tamiya Bright Red... I think Volkswagen Mars Red might be close to that.

No question about it! Tamiya Italian Red in spray can. Closest you will ever come to Ferrari red. Tamiya just didn't want to pay licensing $ to Ferrari to put it in the name of the paint. It's the real deal!

NO. you need a good white base for all reds, oranges and yellows to look their best.

I agree that tamiya italian red comes pretty close.. BUT you might want to either spray on pretty thick or use a grey primer because red being a little translucent would tend to appear a little light.

Model Master's Guards Red is the closest I've seen. But NOT Model Master's Italian red, it looks too orange.

yes I agree testors italian red is way too orange.. I wonder why they call it italian red.

perhaps some of the antique ferrari race cars were painted with that color???

Re: Colour match for Ferrari Red?

I was told there are 2 versions of red for Ferrari by a local F1 collectibles shop. The Tamiya Italian Red is close to the earlier Ferraris, e.g. F40, Testarossa etc. The Tamiya Bright Red is close to the Enzo and F1 2000 (and later models).

I dunno for sure. I could be totally way off. Just want to share with you what I hear.

Re: Colour match for Ferrari Red?

Use the Tamiya Red then paint the inside of the body black. I done this with my ENZO and it made a big difference to the red.

Re: Colour match for Ferrari Red?

Shieldwulf, you are correct. The new Ferraris (well the Enzo at least) are the same colour as the F1 cars which is more orangey (maybe to do with Vodafone) and the others are the traditional scarlet.

P-man - presumably cos the black shows through it darkens the red. Only problem is, is that I'm building a resin model.

Thanks guys
