question about acc's on my '90
okay, I just eliminated my A/C compressor. The compressor had a double pulley, one to turn it, and one to turn the alternator. The problem I have now is the alternator is out of line with the rest of the pulleys. Is there another bracket, or is it as simple as getting a different pulley for the alternator?

Re: question about acc's on my '90
You can try to find an alternator bracket from a junk car that didn't have A/C, but they are extremely rare. Or check the dealer for availability. That would reposition the alternator in line with the other pulleys.

really? Its not as easy as just finding a longer alternator pulley? I couldn't really get a straight answer at the VW dealership.

If you can find one that works, sure. Measure the shaft diameter, overall diameter, groove size & length needed & hit the junkyards.
