2.8L V6 Camaro - NEED HELP!!! Who knows what tranny I have?
I Dont Know What Tranny I Have, And If It Will Bolt Up To A 350 - These 2.8l Suck, But I Dont Have The Money For A Whole New Tranny

auto = 700R4
manual = T5 for all third gen camaros.

Not necassarily true...
engine code LC1 had a TH-200, or 4-speed muncie in 82' In 83' some 2.8's had the 700R4, some still had the TH-200 You'l need a new bell housing to mount up a 350

While we'd need to know the year of your car to determain the tranny you have, I do know it's not a 90 through 91 cuz you'd have the 3.1 and since it is not those years it will bolt up to a 350, if you had one of them 90-92 6ers you'd be up the creak if you had the 700.

I don't think that the V6 700R4 will bolt up to a 350. The 2.8 is a 60* block, so the trans will have a different bolt patern.

that's right, the 2.8 700R4 will not bolt up to a small block. the 4.3 700R4 will bolt up, find a whole tranny or find a case and switch the guts. :P

sorry - i had a long weekend...
its an '88 - 5speed manual man - this engine is so small - when i work on it i sit between the radiator and the engine!

its that black one up there if anyone knows what it is - except the spoiler is not connected all the way around - it is connected in 4 spots and has the brake light in it (i'm pretty sure its not after market - unless they did a good job of hiding where the old spoiler used to be) and its space between the spoiler and the car is about a quarter to a half inch..................if it helps
