At what level is my transmission full of fluid

I want to check th level of my manual transmission fluid. I set the car on a level serface, removed the plug and the fluid is about one and a half inch from the bottom of the fill hole.

Fluid level

Just changed the manual fluid in my son's 92 Stealth. You are to park it on a level surface and take off the fill plug. The fluid should be at the bottom of the fill hole. When I put the fluid back in a little had run out and when it stopped I knew the level was right. By the way I replaced his manual gear oil with synthetic fluid and it made quite the difference. Hope this helps.
