did you change anything?( i.e.- gut your cat converter) if not- possibly an o2 sensor or exhaust leak. HTH

To check for the engine codes, go by the passenger side front seat. By the kick panel on the floor (to the right close by the passenger side door), look up into the small space right above the kick panel and you'll see a GREEN rubber plug. pull that down. There are 2 wire attached to it. take this wire out of the green rubber plug. Now you'll see the two wires with a blue plug at the eng of it. Using a piece of wire or a paper clip stick it into the two leads of this plug so that you are connecting the two wires. Now after you do this, turn your car to the ACC position. Your CEL will start to blink if you have an ERROR code. Long blinks are the first number of the error code and short blinks are the second number of the code.
example: Long blink Long Blink Long Blink Long Blink Long Blink Long Blink Short blink short blink short blink short blink short blink short blink short blink will represent error code 67 because we have 6 long blinks and 7 short blinks. You can only check to see if you have an error code if you CEL is on. if it's not on then ur engine is fine and you have no problems. You can go find what each codes mean online or if you want i can tell you what they are if u tell me the error code. hope this helps |

Re: Check Engine Light "code 67" (2000 integra LS)
I reset the light twice and it comes back on within 20 miles of driving. I didn't upgrade anything so that's not a issue. This whole thing started happening after I ran the car out of gas one day and tried to keep starting the car to see if I could make it to the next exit. The car spuddered and
stalled alot but I made it to the gas station. I bet I killed the O2 sensor with the misfires or I clogged my fuel filter when I ran the gas totally dry. The car runs fine and the mileage is 30mpg so I'm not sure whether to ignore the light. A bad O2 sensor isn't hurting anything. I can't see how a bad gas cap seal hurts anything. The Cat converter is supposed to last 10 years.. So I'm not sure what to do. The O2 sensor costs $350 to replace so I'm not really motivated to start replacing things that cost a lot of money that may not even fix the light. I've read on the internet that other people have chased this yellow light to death and not figure out how to get it to stay off.. The car has 105k on it.. PS: For the other guy who asked... Here is a link that explains all the codes.... www.itrca.com/FAQ/troubleshooting/celcodes.php This listing is for type "R" integras. I am assuming the type "R" integra has the same codes as a regular integra. Please let me know if this is not correct. (I would hate to chasing the wrong code) More help needed... -Tom |
