Cluster Swapping

I have recently purchased a 2001 neon SE. The car has all the extra options that the dual cam neons didnt have(where i was looking) so i got this one. Bad part is the cluster has no tach. I was wondering if a cluster with all the guages instead of dummy lights would plug into, and work with my neon. If so, how do you go by swaping the miles over, I was thinking there is a chip that holds this information but I dont know yet.
