Calculate Engine Hours

I am thinking of purchasing an M3 and the dealer has talked about engine hours on the vehicle. I want to know the equation for calculating the amount of hours an engine has been used? Also - is it possible for this value to be deleted from the on board computer?

Thanks Much!

Re: Calculate Engine Hours

Hmmm... Usually the only time hours are used is on boats and jetskis, where it's impossible to use mileage. The salesman probably used to sell bass boats and is now trying to sell M3's. I would pay attention to the mileage...
