I just installed my Stillen Intake. I also installed my strut tower brace and rear sway bar. Here is a pic of the intake CHeezy I know

How you like your Stillen intake? Sound louder too.

The Stillen intake made some power. I did notice an improvement in throttle response. I have all of the exhaust components (y pipe is on back order but should be here this week) I really believe that I will not really get the potential until I add the other components. I would probably notice a bigger difference if I put the intake on last. As for the noise, Normal driving doesn't bother me. Yes it is a bit louder. But only at WOT is it real noticeable. But that's ok.

I plan to have the full exhaust system (y pipe, random tech cat, b pipe and rear section) installed next weekend I will let everyone know what I think for whatever its worth. :licker:

ricey, if you want to make those tailights a little more pallatable you should try tinting the inner face of the clear plastic case. they really need to be toned down a little. i like a few altezza's that i have seen but just not for the maxima. the maxima taillights are just too big for that style and the big red brake lights really take away from the subtle styling of your amazing car.............

that's just my two cents.

ground controls

I have the rear set all the way to the top. Which is about an inch drop I think. As for the front, I have played with lowering the fron 1.75 to 2" from the top of the ground control collar. If I read the literature correctly, the drop is from 1" to 4" so the front drop is about 2.75 to 3" drop in the front. As for the shocks. There doing ok but I highly recommend using aftermarket. I am getting the KYB AGX (on order soon) The problem with the factory struts is two fold.

1. the higher spring rate of the gc make it a little bouncy over big bumps. Higher damping shocks will improve this.
2. The factory shock are too long (cannot be lowered) too much or the piston bottoms out. The first time you hear this it will scare the $hit out of you. ( I noticed when I drop my car lower.) I noticed the handling is better when the front is lower than the rear. but that could be just me. If you lower your car more that what I said, you will bottom out in hard cornering on smooth surfaces.

Now for the the good news. The ride is great on the freeway. It only is a little ruff around town with the bad roads. I go over railroad tracks with no issues and I don't slow down too much for them. The car does not lean too much and does not dive at all in hard breaking.

The stiffer shocks will actually improve the ride quality. Its all about balance. (at least that's what Mr. Miyagi says)

Leather Seats

There's a web site, leatherseats.com I believe. They have some really nice leather packages for the Maxima. Two tone and all. Simple instructions to remove your cloth and install the new leather. That should jazz up your interrior.

I have included a pic below. The Stillen intake has pre-drilled holes for the temp sensor. I hear that was not always the case. You could drill three small holes in the end of your air filter intake assuming it is a cone type. Make sure to do this off the car. You do not want to have any metal filings in the intake track

I have documented this install on my site with some pics at www.maximacar.com go the the tech section under what else "Stillen Intake" use the menu on the left to navigate. :flash:
