Your max looks great! Just a couple quick q's. If you dont mind me asking, where did u get ur sytem installed and how much did that cost you. I have been wondering about a custom enclosure, but dont know how much run around. If you wouldnt mind giving me that info, i would greatly apreciate it.

I noticed you have quite a bit of stickers on your car. Are you sponsored by any of those companies? If you are, that's great. If not, I suggest you remove them. I'm just not a fan of stickers, unless you are sponsored. Sorry if I sound a bit anal, but your car would look really nice and clean if you didn't have the stickers.

Looks Perfect to me but I'd go with leather if it was my choice to make.

Wink

Hey Thanks for all the feedback.

To Cumalot (nice name) Yes I have received some sponsorship but everyone tells me that the stickers are good for at least 5 hp.

I look at the sarona body kit but i hear its a bitch to put on (Like doesn't fit very well) and needs lots of sanding and filler to look right.

I am using a 24" neon tube from liteglow. I tapped the tube into what used to be the rear deck light so when you open the trunk, the neon turns on. (beats installing a switch) As for the inside. I would like to change the shifter (its an auto) but want one thats not too flashy. I will post some pics for the dash i had to hogg out to fit the CD, TV and DVD player. The pillers I recovered in dark grey grille cloth so piller gauges is difficult but not impossible. To put images on your post you have to use some commands and have the image available on the web somewhere. the code is "" (dont use the quotation marks and dont forget the http://

I did the installation in my garage and a little at work. My friend Kevin gave me some help and alot of moral support. He's got a cool GTP (I know, america trash but it is fast as hell)

The enclosure is actually infinite baffle (you can stick your hands through the face) and fires through the armrest hole. (i was too chicken to cut lots of metal. The back panel is made out of fiberglass. with wooded inserts that hold the amplifiers and for the face hole. I might have some pics of the process. It does take alot of sanding work to get ready for paint. As for cost. I spent about 250 dollars on different materials i.e. wood, fiberglass, fleese, resin, paint, bondo, kitty hair ( bondo reinforeced with fibers), vinyl and other materials. Labor there is about 4 full days of work plus about a week and a half of after hours work (need money to pay for it all) Drive to work in the morning... priceless.

If someone has questions about stereos, I used to compete and build demo vehicles for manufacturers and I was the Director of New products for a/d/s/ and Orion before they are where they are today.

Hey riceburner. Love the system. I was wondering if you knew anyplace out west that would do an install like yours with the fiberglass molding and all that fun stuff. Also what would be your estimate to have someone install that sort of thing.

Nice ride, man! Your sound system looks top-shelf all the way!!!

The only thing I'd change is... (how often do you hear this? )

The other day a saw some non-Altezza car with "Altezza"-style lights, but with a twist that I really liked. The outermost platic lens which is usually clear was a crystal-clear translucent red. It wasn't hazy like the red tint film. I don't know if they come like that now, of if he did it himself, but they looked pretty slick without the silver chrome around the lights. I think that'd look pretty good on your black Max. My 2¢.

Yes I agree, I do not really care for the Altezza lights myself. But I wanted something different and I had the clear lights but the bulbs always lose their color and look like poop

I would really like to take these lights apart and paint the crome black (body color) whadda think??? I also have seen other people paint the factor lights body color. (better when the car is not black) This is a fog painting type job I think I have a pic somewhere. Nope its at work. I will post tommorrow. Anyway Thanks for the feedback. This is exactly what I am looking for.

As for the person on the west coast. Let me know where you live. I might be able to find someone for you. as for cost??? The amp rack is probable more tha 1K (Ouch!) I actually plan to outline the steps. on how to build on my site. I just started. The site is http://www.maximacar.com

I am starting to document the build up of my max. (Self serving I know... but I have my reasons.) Please look at the site. Not really much to look at yet. Only worked on it one night. But I plan to have all my stuff on the site in a little detail. With some basic hand tools and trial and error time you could build it yourself.

This is not to take away from the experts. They have experience and vision. Not to mention training from manufacturers on how to do the best job.

If you are interested. I will work on a how-to build on the panel next on the site. I have just finished taking pics and installing my Stillen camber plates, strut tower brace and rear sway bar. Let me know.
