We recently got into an accident where the front end was replaced. New radiator etc.. After getting the car back it overheated and shut off. They towed it and fixed it. No problems. A few weeks after the engine light came on and started backfiring. Had it scanned and was told to replace spark plugs and wires. It was great for a month and then it started to do it again. Got it scanned and was misfiriing on cylinder 1 and 2. Replaced the spark plugs on 1 and 2 obviously the spark was damaging the porcelain around the spark plugs. Starting running a little better but still had loss of acceleration. I was told to replace the spark plug wires again!! Is this possible and why? Wires are only 1 month old. Yesterday I was driving it and it stalled. I turned it back on and could not drive more than 20 mph. And the temp. gauge was all the way high.
Someone please help...what's going on? The car doesn't want to move even if I push the gas pedal all the way. Throttle position sensor??? Anyone with an anwer please!! Last edited by Dj_Wiz; 12-21-2003 at 03:03 PM. |

Re: No Power Neon
That sounds very odd. Have your ignition coil, and any connections leading to it, checked. They may very well have been damaged in the accident. Your plug wires SHOULD be fine. My guess is one side of your coil pack is damaged.
You're not using platinums in that thing, are you? Neons love to eat plats for breakfast.
