Flaming Exaust tips?

Has anybpdy made their exaust tips flame out. If youve seen The Fast And The Furious at the first race seen,(when there are the four cars) all their exausts flame up. Does anybody know how to do that on a model?

i have a general design in mind, never tested it though... i might test it tomarrow, I'll let you know my results and if they are positive i will make a how to thread....

uh.... so basically you want real fire/flames to come out of your 1:25/1:24 scale exhaust tip? If you have metal exhaust tip, just pour a tiny bit of testors orange tube glue in it, and light it on fire. Suprisingly, it isnt as flamable as you think. Trust me, ive tried it.

i dont know about you local hobby store but mine carries butane torches and i bet you can get the torch tip in the exhaust tip and route some type of flexible tube from the butane canister to the exhaust. just a quick idea. they usually run for 12 bucks..... kind of pricey for an experement but soounds fun

Both those ideas seem like a solid flame, but I think he's going for more of little pops or bursts of flame? The thought had occured to me to just use a bic lighter, the kind you use to light the bar-b-q. Since when you pull the trigger it makes a small electric spark, it yould avoid having to use a flint, and you could use a tube to pipe the fuel into the exhaust tip. This would take some creative mounting of the car, some creative wiring, but conceivably you could push a button and make little flames come out the tailpipe.

In any case, this seems like a good way to set your model, workbench, and house on fire. As well as you. I don't think I'd ever do this, though it is a fun little pipe dream.

just put thin paper, and a red led light inside...... should look OK, not very real tho....

LOL. I actually tried this last night on my turbo integra GSR. Since i put a metal exhaust tip on it, i poured a little glue in the tip, and used a BBQ lighter. Suprisingly it didnt catch flame. But i did get a nice heat burned metal exhaust tip and a melted SPARCO sticker. lol
