Cam advance/retard direction?

can someone tell me which way is advance and which way is retard on the CAMS, im not talking about ignition timing im talking about the cams!

The only way to adjust cams is on a dyno with several runs.

advancing = low-end power // clockwise
retarding - high-end power // counter clockwise

what when you first put them on, do you just tightent them down, or should you take it to a shop and ask them to do it so you dont mess anything up?
