97 grand am 3.1 studders at speed

Hi... I'm new to the forum and thought I would post a problem I am having, to see if there is someone else had the same issues.

The car would loose power like you raised the gas pedal, then I would have to floor it to keep it moving at 55mph. this would last for about 10 seconds then go away. At lower speeds 35mph I would have to pull over and floor it till it cleared up. It seemed to do it when I reached a quarter tank of gas, then recently it started to do it at 3/8 to 1/2 a tank now.

I changed the fuel filter about 9 months ago, this week I bought a fuel pressure gauge and the pump puts out 40psi and I dont have any codes in the computer.
Thanks
