Nissan Sport Muffler and help with aftermarket intake.

Hey, I'm new to this board. The lease on my 2001 Maxima SE is up so I am about to return it and placed an order today with my dealer for a 2003 Xterra SE-S/C in Granite with just about everything except leather.

Anyone have any experience with the Nissan Factory Sport Muffler option? Is it worth it or should I go with an aftermarket make? Suggestions?

Of course I'm also going to need to upgrade the intake at the same time so what do you guys suggest? It seems that all the places have aftermarket intakes for up to model year 2002. Can someone point me to a place that sells on for a 2003 SE-S/C?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Nissan Sport Muffler and help with aftermarket intake.

Don't really know anything about the new "sport muffler" they're offering. At first I assumed you were referring to the stainless cat-back sport exhaust that they introduced a couple of years back: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...ead.php?t=7451
But that's a completely different animal, all stainless steel, replaces the Y-pipe, and has a Dynomax muffler. This is still available and currently in stock at nissanparts.cc

The new "sport muffler" is detailed here:

Some sort of fancy variable-capacity system used in it, details here:

Interesting item, but I don't know anything about it and haven't heard from anyone that has it that I know of.

Any 2002 intake will fit the comparable 2003.
