Re: 2001 3.0 v6 eclipse motor in mirage (what i need?)
I don't know about an Eclipse engine fitting in, but I do know that the 6A12 from the Galant will work. I looked into it myself. There is a company in Florida (www.visionimports.com) that can get you the entire front clip... but it costs roughly $4K!
I've got a '01 Mirage DE Coupe... and I would love nothing better than hooking the car up, but I don't have the money for it, not as a student at least. Maybe after I've got my degree and a job... who knows, by then I might go out and buy a car that will fill that need for speed. But I digress.... ... the 6A12, 2.0L V6 FWD engine that will mount right into the '97+ engine compartment. Make sure you get the whole thing... the transaxle, engine, harnesses, etc. I've been told that the whole process takes about two days of straight work, no welding or cutting. Look into it, it is most probably the better way to go. |

The information I got on the application availability is from Dave at RPW. Then I got a price quote from the sales rep at Vision Imports. If you've got doubts or questions send RPW an email, they reply pretty quickly and give good info... plus there website has a lot of good info, too.
