I am a newbie here. Always remember, though, if you wanna add more HP, break out the wing and the stickers(forget about actual performance parts...lol).
Seriously though. I went on the performance forum first, the one at the top, as all good newbies should. However, it didn't really answer my questions about my new car, a 1993 civic lx sedan d15b7 automatic. What was its 0-60, 0-100, quarter-mile and top speed, especially it being non-vtec? how does that compare with a comprable d16z6? I already know horsepower figures; they're on the website here. Can it break 12 seconds 0-60 and 19 in the quarter? will it go at least 105 mph? I establish certain bare perfomance requirements. Remember, it's bone stock. I can't find any websites with this specific sedan in mind(i've been online 4 hours). If you could help it would be appreciated. It has 168k on it already; i want to go 500k though. Are civics really reliable as everyone says? I don't drive my car fast or abuse it; I just want to know real stats for a bone stock base automatic because i cant find them on the site here. Thanks. Re: Very Important Questions
Do some research at autotrader.com - its slow. Yes civic's are very reliable if you follow the maintenance schedule & do proper repairs on time. IMO dont bother dumping money into your current engine, do a swap.

Whats up man. Hope this helps. Youe car can brake the 19sec in the 1/4 mile. That is of course at sea level. A rough estimate is 18.2-18.6 in the quarter mile for your stock car. I would say mid 11s for 0-60 mph.
I found something on your engine. "After 175,000 miles, the suspension is shot, the brakes likewise, and the tired interior smells like unwashed feet. But damned if we didn't get a ringer engine. In baseline testing, the little D15B7 pulled the car to a 16.7 in the quarter mile, which seems strange; the car ran 17s stock. A dyno pull affirmed our suspicions: Our engine, with supposedly 102 crank horsepower, laid 95 hp to the wheels. All we can figure is massive carbon deposits on the pistons upped the compression" http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/pr...cc_civicguide/ Thats the page. Your engine here tested 17s, but on a hatchback and automatic which automatically lowers some numbers.
