Unless you have a lift or carstands and an impact gun you'll never get the bolts off for your y pipe, i'd have that done prefessionally.

You guys should do a search before making quotes like this=it's beastly and guarantees 7.2 hp at the wheels over stock. i don't know of any other intake that can make that claim unless it's a cold air.

The GAB makes over 11hp as dyno'd in a comparison against both the CAI and the WAI and the best thing about it is that it is free to do it yourself.

Isn't it pretty hard to fuck up Drilling a few holes? Thats all it is, just a few holes or maybe one big one in the bottom of the box. If I'm wrong let me know.
Also, I wasn't aware that it made 11hp. I'm not doubting you Bk, but a Dyno graph would be nice.

well it probably is hard to fuck up on drilling holes but i'm pretty sure it's one big hole which i doubt you'd drill, you probably have to use a sawzall or something and then you gotta find a way to keep the air filter from falling out. if you wanna hear how the GAB mod sounds just take out your air filter and drive down the street wit like a stocking on there to keep dirt out. don't leave it like this but if you just wanna hear it quickly. it sounds like an intake but i can't see how cutting a hole in your airbox can add 11 hp.

Well, From what I understand, you take out the resonator box under the battery and "swisscheese" the side closest to the fenderwell. That lets more cool air(the air on that side is away from the engine) into the intake, thus creating more Hp. I don't know if its 11, but it may be a few.

truth be told you are not going to get a lot of gain with any intake, unless it is a true CAI, which is a bitch to install...even then, you're not looking at much. the real gains are in the y-pipes and headers, and obviously FI. intake will give you a deeper, meaner sound, and MAYBE a tiny bit of extra kick. not worth arguing about

What other performance mods can you do to your Maxima after you have gotten a y-pipe and an intake?
