Need Help getting 1995 into programming mode
We just bought a 1995 Windstar for a second family vehicle. Anyhow the prior owner said the remote no longer worked for it and I checked and it was missing a battery. I bought 2 new batteries for it. However it still didn't work and so I tought about reprogramming it.
But I can not get the van to go into programming mode. I tried the two methods I have seen online the 5 times on and off in 10 seconds, and the 8 times on and off in 10 seconds ending in the on or ACC mode. I tried several different times. I tried with the van unlocked to start and also with the van locked starting. The van doesn't lock/unlock to let you know its in program mode. I don't have a problem getting new remotes if the remote I have is damage. But if I can not get the van into the program mode what good would it do?? Any help?? The van did not come with an owners manual. I am looking at getting one. thanks in advance for any help or advice. |

Re: Need Help getting 1995 into programming mode
It does have keyless remote entry but 5 times doesn't get it to go into the programming mode. Could there be a blown fuse or maybe a wiring problem that I can check??? The owner prior to me owned it since 2001 and used the remote entry for the majority of time that they had it.

Re: Need Help getting 1995 into programming mode
Hi
Here is a post from several months ago regarding programming for the '96. I think it might be the way to go for your '95. Best of luck. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...hlight=busboy4 |

I just bought a '95 Windstar and I had basically the same problem... vehicle had no remotes but was registered with keyless entry. I went to a dealership and they gave me a photocopy of the programming procedures. Apparently the '95 Windstar has a programing input behind the glovebox (to the right). I checked with my auto repair manual and the wires checked out with the schematics. Anyway... the procedures say that you have to set your key to ACC then jump the two terminals in this input momentarily... the locks should cycle to tell you that the module is in programming mode...then press a button on your remote to set it. You can program up to four remotes at this time. Turn your ignition key back to off and the locks should cycle to let you know that it's no longer in programming mode.
Well...that was kinda drawn out...and I don't even know if it will work for you cuz it didn't work for me (nothing happened when I tried to jump the terminals) but that was the programming procedure that I was given for the '95. |
