Spark Plugs--DON'T GO CHEAP (quality)!

For those who have not done their homework, take some advice from other consumers and experts.

Bosch, Champion, Splitfire: These are brands of sparkies that you put in cars that you are not worried about performance. These produce an average spark and last an acceptable amount of time...

However, the Maxima is a high-performance vehicle. In my course of dealings, I have asked around about what kind of spark plugs to replace in the Maxima, and all that I have heard is a resounding "NGK." I have also heard "I wouldn't touch Bosch with a ten-foot pole," and other comments. Why? Cheap price=Cheap quality (in most cases) and you want a good spark in your car. Bad sparks may lead to early combustion, pinging, and ultimately causing expensive damage to the engine. NGK has a reputation for solid performance, platinums over copper. Supposedly, they offer comparable results, platinums lasting almost twice as long.

Use what you will, but remember that it may only take once to really mess something up.

Exclamation Spark plugs

Just wanted to say I have done a little experiment. I have run my car with the original plugs since it was new, and it now has 117,000 miles on it. I apparently have lost a couple tenths at the strip, but i still can regularly get 400+ miles out of a tank. Thats shifting below 3500 and not cruising above 70. Just thought you woudl find that interesting, Oh and yes, im going to change them this weekend Oh and yes, i will be sticking with proven performance and longevity... NGK baby. Others may work just as well, maybe better, but they are proven in this vehicle.
