finding #1 position after taking distributor out
I had to replace my cam, lifters, push rods, timing chain, and distributor. I cant seem to find the position to put my distributor in. I know it needs to be in the number 1 positon. What are the steps to take to get my distributor in and cap right? Also, what is the number 1 position on the cap?

hand crank engine until #1 cylinder hits DTC ( this is where the intake valve closes and the piston comes to the top of the bore)
Drop in distibutor with rotor pointing to #1 cylinder Install cap on post 95 models, look at the cap to determine where #1 is on the cap and install the distibutor pointing to #1 position on the cap( the reat of the procedure is the same)
