ok sho me (no pun intented) i can not see a tuned evo to 400 hp losing to a z06. i can't the tuned evo is still going to be lighter out handles most as the best in stock form. is equally fast as an 03 svt cobra (i got that from MT). sho me

So yeah ok I suppose the Vette will lose to the Evo when all you do is bench race (which looks like all you'll be doing anyway) but when you take the cars out and watch them perform you see the difference. First there is something called torque that not many import companies know that we here like to measure on our cars. Torque is the force the car can apply to get itself moving. More low end torque equals faster car off the line, which I am guessing the Corvette is completely killing until all the imports reach 8000 RPM at which they can only stay for one second until they have to shift into the next gear. The Corvette has 400 lb/ft of torque at low RPMs and can move off the line much faster. It develops power from idle all the way up to 6 grand and beyond with the newer ones. Another thing affecting the outcome of the race is lag caused by high boost on the turbos. It takes a while for 20+ PSI to kick in, boost has to build it's not just there when you hit the gas as boost is dependent on exhaust gas velocity. The Corvette can just go boom and it's making butt loads of torque ANYWHERE in the powerband. Plus that Corvette can be taken out and driven on the streets on 92 octane pump gas whereas those imports with their high boost could not dream of running anything as low as 92. Try 118 airplane fuel or something, unless they have some severe low compression which robs them of even more needed torque and look what ya got.

owned.

ok then would a car with more torque be out ran by an import normally aspierated? and turbo lag is cause by larger turbos with heavey turbine and a larger space for the exhaust fumes have to fill, with a smaller turbo you still get a nice boost in power with no turbo lag.
