I can't say that I'm 100% positive as the information I'm offering comes second and third hand, but I'm fairly certain it's accurate. When you hear similar details from multiple sources it becomes easier to form a basis for calling something fact. That's what happened in this situation. People who have seen this car in person at Shelton have called the color dark silver - that could certainly fit with a color called "Carbon". If this car was repainted, I wouldn't know. I see it on the chassis list with the same description, but as these cars get older and change hands, that list is becoming more and more outdated.

I wrote a long email to the son of the owner of Shelton and he hasn't replied yet. I think I'll try contacting him again to see if he will verify the info I have. Otherwise, we'll just go with this until someone proves otherwise.

If the year is 1994 and the color is "Dark Silver", then the chassis # is 12. Thats what I have it down as on my master index.

The last three digits of the VIN are the chassis number, making this #024. Gerd has a list of most of the F1s here in the US legally he can pull this info from. That, along with my confirmation on the owner of this car, makes for a pretty conclusive argument as to what number this car is.

It's a shame that the car is no longer there. I had hoped to make it out that way to see the car later in the year. I guess I'll just have to keep hoping that another opportunity will spring up.
