Electrical problems

I have an A4 Avant 1.9 TDI (1999) which has behaved perfectly for 60,000 miles except for a couple of recurring door-and-window faults:

(1) When I'm trying to close the driver's window, it frequently doesn't stop in the closed position, but bounces back down again for 3 or 4 inches. I can usually beat it by raising it to just about an inch from the top, then waiting a few seconds, then pressing the button again.

(2) I often get the warning light during a journey to say that the rear hatch is not fully closed. When I stop and check, sometimes it is apparently properly closed (i.e. the warning is false), and sometimes it really isn't closed (i.e. it's opened itself while travelling).

Unfortunately neither of these appeared during the warranty period. My local dealer says he hasn't seen either of them before, and can't undertake to fix them without spending a lot of money.

Has anybody out there suffered from either or both of these, and if so, found a fix?

i have not encountered this in an audi but in a ford, well of course, any way it was the switch for the window but first u need to figure out which switch probably the front because they have the auto up but any way u need a multi meter if u dont have one u can probably go to a local stereo shop and see if they will look at it for u it could be a good thing because there hr rate is probably around 35 an hr and would take a little less than an hr. If u have a multi meter then I dont think I need to explain anything get off your ass and fix it. ok and now for the trunk
have u kidnapped anyone before it magicaly opened? probably not huh. It is not very difficult to take the deck lid cover off and then u can see if the vacuum hose is pinched or any thing else yes I did say vacuum your locks are vac assisted thats why there so damn slow maby u just need a small repair. also have u been rear ended ? good luck i hope I helped.
