240sx - Sr20det
I'm thinking of buying a 95' 240SX and do an SR20DET transplant. I was wondering what company could do this for me, the closest one to Atlanta. And If you could be very helpful to write what kind of performance mods I would need to get about 400-450Hp out of the SR20DET. Rember that all the performance mods must be capable of fitting inside the 240SX.

400-450hp... that would be a big list of mods, I'm no big fan of RB25DET swaps but if you want that much hp an RB would be the way to go... much easier

lol 400-450... have you ridden in a 240 with an sr20 with about 250rwhp? 400-450 would be a death trap in my opinion, but yes if you want that much for whatever reason ide go with an rb25det not an sr20det.

and why is it that everyone things the rb's are so expensive? i can get a clip for 3500$ and thats just as much as an s14 sr20det... now tell me why i would buy an sr20det 4 banger when i get get an inline 6 2.5 liter for the same price... yes i will spend a little bit more on a mounting kit, and other misc things, but i also don't have to build the internals on the rb25 like i would have to on the sr, so it all equals out in the end. Its really just a matter of preference, i would much rather an inline 6 over a 4 cylinder. It will be easier to get 400-450rwhp out of an rb25det than an sr20 anyday... sure they both can do it, but i happen to believe the rb25 would do it a lot easier. and seriously, if you have any links to some pictures/videos/webpages of 400-450rwhp sr20'd 240s that are daily driven (for more than a month) please show me, im not doubting that they can i have just never seen it... |

wha in blue hell do you need 400hp in a 240?
what are you planing to do? drifting doesnt need more then 350hp, and sr suck for 1\4 mile cars?i say get the damm sr do bolts on and up grade turbo and do fuel sys. and run 14psi and make close to 300hp or a lil more and you will be very happy. itz good to think bug but to get carried away.. when reality hits you and u see itz a shit load of work to make 450hp from a 4cyld n expect it to be realiable itz to late.. it is possible but if you want 450hp there is lotz more way to go... you can come to the darkside with me and go dsm and do supporting mods and a big 20g' and boost to 18psi n run about 400hp@wheels or get a supra or rx-7...what ever you do good luck 1

I'm sure some of you have heard of derek greaser. anyways he's got 2 cars. an 89 240 coupe and a 96 240. the 89 is sr powered, the 96 is ka-t powered. since your interested in the sr then here's his current setup for it. He made 396RWHP at 15PSI. He's a very good driver but here's his best run to date with the car. 1.49 60ft, 7.002 1/8th mile and a 10.91 @ 123MPH 1/4 miles.
