High Beam Problem!
I'll start out at the beginning: A few months ago my lights started acting up, I would try to turn on my high beams (2001 Neon ES, by the way) and they wouldn't STAY on, they'd come on when I held the knob back, but then they'd go off when I let go. So then I figured out I could pull back the knob and let go real fast and then they would go on and stay on, and then I'd have to "flick" them (quickly) to turn them back off..
The last time I turned them on they stayed that way and won't turn off.. I can drive with my marker lights on (IE. in the rain, fog, etc.) but I night I have to have my headlights on, and when I do, they're always on highbeams.. So to say the least, I have a lot of pissed off people driving in front of me.. HELP! I'm planning on taking it in, but I wanted to see if there is an easy fix out there first.. Thanks! |

just a stab at this, but...
maybe if you were to pull the turn signal switch back a bit and it'll go back to normal.... The 1998 Neon (and I assume it'd be the same in later models) has 3 Positions for your turn signal switch. Forward, and your lights will be high beams. Neutral no high beams no turn signals.. and Back (towards your steering wheel) which is used as flashing your high beams.... Some safety feature or something... but at any rate I think that's your problem. |
