high beam problem?
low beams work, high beams do not. When high beams are on there is no voltage to the lights (at the headlights). Where do I check next? could it be the switch, or is there anything else to check. \
I am going back out to freeze my ass off and check the fuses and relays (if any). Please help. |

It may be the switch in the steering column that turns them on. Maybe try spraying contact cleaner in there, and flipping it on and off. Do this repeatedly a few times, It fixed my old car (an 88 accord) that was doing similar things (only the brights would come on sometimes when you pulled the lever).

if your not getting any juice to your headlight harness, then you are correct to check your fuses and/or relays.

Re: high beam problem?
There is a fuse for each light though, so unless they both coincidentally blew at the same time it probably won't be them. Check the relay or the actual switch.

relay is okay, fuses okay. I do not think the switch is working. However, I am now told that the car's radio flickers on and off and has been doing so since the high beam problem...
When I get the car again I was going to pull the radio out and check for bare wires maybe interfering with the headlights, I do not know. Maybe it is a separate problem in itself. I do not want to just replace the switch and then not have that be the problem. I am not good with electrical. I'm close to just sending it to a real garage. |
