auto manual tranny conversion
hi,
I'm sure this question has been asked a MILLION times, but I guess I just want to get more specific answers to my particular situation. hopefully, it'll help others too. I'm thinking of converting my 1999 integra GS from an automatic to a manual transmission. is it possible to do it oneself easily? or is it better to have a shop do it? what tools would be necessary to do it? I'm also looking for a Helms manual to get more detail on the specifics of such a task. is there any way to get one for an integra? www.helminc.com says that it's all out of stock. I bought a shift linkage for a 1998 GSR and some tranny mounts for the GSR... I'm not really that sure that the tranny mounts will work with my car. anyway, does anyone know if it's possible to do it within... say a weekend? one guy I talked to (the guy who sold me the shift linkage) said that it should be pretty straightforward and esay and that he was going to do it to his integra... however, pretty much everyone else told me it was going to be very hard. ugh... I really want to do this. I can't just sell this car though.. that's not an option because my parents don't want me to sell it. thanks for any help/suggestions. |

it's my understanding it's a pain in the ass and not worth the $$$ your better off convincing mommy and papa to let you sell it and get a stick
