Question Power Locks

Need help, I have 2000 Grand Am GT, first remote control for locks stopped working, it would unlock the car but would not lock it. Also, the
central power lock on the driver's side would do the same. And just a few weeks ago the unlock function on both the remote and the door have stoped working. All the fueses are fine. Does any one know what might be the problem?

Just a thought, but did you try changing the battery? Or what about your other remote? Does that one work fine? This way we can narrow it down to which isn't working, the car or the remote.

If one button on your remote is inop it is most likely that the remote is bad!!

As for your master door lock switch on the door being broken. The way these door locks work is by swapping power and ground depending on what action you want the locks to do! If one switch is stuck on the locks will fail to work. Usually the drivers switches are the master and the rest are slaves of it.

If both doors fail the same you would suspect a bad switch or a stuck button on your remote. If only one door does this you should check out the door lock actuator.
