the b16 takes between 4-1/4 and 4-1/2qts of 10w-30

Just be sure to remember that about .25-.5 of a qt. of oil goes into the filter. That might have been why it seemed so low when you checked the oil level. I think the manual for my car calls for 3.8 quarts but you need a little more for the filter.

That is why you run the car after the oil change. Wait for oil pressure then check the level.
