'94 Skyline GTS25 vs '92 VR4 Galant
Hello eveybody this is my first post here.
I have saved up some money and decided to replace my tired old prelude. I have narrowed down the choices to these two cars. I realise some are not available in all countries but there should still be some people out there who know what I am talking about. I was wondering which car u guys think would be best and why - I am looking for something sporty and affordable. I reckon I could pick up either of these cars in NZ for around $10K NZ. Comment if you think Im being optimistic. This is how Im lookin' at it so far: VR4: Pros: 2L twin turbo - can be tuned to get some real nice performance Cons: Looks kinda plain - not as cool as a skyline, although could look really nice with some good alloys and lowered a bit. Skyline: Pros: can have 2 doors (which is what I want) and looks much sportier than the mitsi Cons: 2500cc twin cammer goes nice but not as nice as the VR4. And I can't afford the turbo (probably couldn't insure it either). The turbo's seem to go around 14K and there's no guarantee I can get a manual for that price. (Stick). Look forward to your opinions. PS I am 23. |

Are you sure you can get a twin turbo VR4 for that price, Im sure you could get an early single turbo one but i think the TT is dearer than that.
You should be able to get a GTS-T for that price, Skylines have came down in price alot, a GTS-T would be alot cheaper than a TT VR4 I would have thought BTW welcome to AF, another Kiwi yay

Don't get either one...
VR4 is a piece of crap.. and the GTS-25 will be damn slow.. You must also mean the older VR4, as TT ones will fetch alot over 10k.. The TT ones are pretty nice, but a GTS25T would be better. How come you think you can get insurance for a TT VR4 but not a Turbo Skyline.. My insurance goes on price and has nothing to do with the car. lucky. So if my car ws worth $30k it would go up to match.. Get a GTS-T and spend some cash on it. My brother found one for $4000, new diff, fixed paint and change to manual. Owes him about $6000... and now with the extra $4000 give it 300HP and some nice wheels.. That is the best option

The only VR4 worth having is the 3000GT variety

My ideal car would an R33 GTS25T but Im not sure I can get 14K together that I think I will need - and I would want to mod it a little also, so that would take some extra cash....... |

this is just my opinion.. if you can't afford a GTS25T how about a R32 GTS-T ?? that would cost you less than 10K. They are fast enough and 2.0L Turbo.
good luck hehehe
