Smile Nice car dude...

If you have cash you should be able to lower the price way lower than what they are asking for...

keep in mind that if you're buying from a dealer: A) you have to pay taxes and B) they're asking price is probably 20-30% more than what they got it for, but they still have to make a profit so a good ballpark figure would be offer 10-20% less than what a dealer lists it at depending on how fairly priced you think it is to begin with

yes you pay tax on a car everytime you buy on eeither from a private seller or a dealer... no matter how many times the car has been bought or sold in the past...

Atleast that is the way it is in Indiana,.... If other states are not like that..

I guess it is worth it for not having emmissions requirements

I don't recall paying any NC sales tax when I purchased my M30 from a private seller. Also, if you look on eBay, most of the dealers say, "XX buyers must pay Y% sales tax," where XX is the state in which the dealer is located and Y is the amount of the state/county sales; that is to say, buyers outside the state aren't require to pay sales tax. This is not to say you won't have to pay taxes at all on the car, just not sales tax. Please note that I'm not a CPA nor a tax attorney, so what I'm saying is based solely on my own experiences.

it is my understanding that you pay some sort of taxes, but not sales tax.. only companies must pay sales tax on what they sell (thus passing the taxes on to you), but again i could be wrong, but this would be a good thing to know, anyone know anything about the subject? i always considered buying from a private owner a better option because of less taxes and such involved... hopefully i'm not just stupid, though it's highly possible
