Recommendations on a 97 LE?
Hey everybody,
I've found a 97 240SX LE 5spd which you can view here. I went and drove it tonight, and it feels pretty solid. I'm just wondering what you guys think a fair price would be? The Autotrader ad says they want $9995, but their window sticker was $10,225. Any thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Also, can you point out any problem areas I should look out for? I've owned an Infiniti M30 before, but when it comes to 240s, I'm pretty green. I appreciate any input. -Justin

 wow, that is nice! Yeah definately try and talk them down some but if they don't go any then $9995 is still a pretty good price for a 97 LE. Also the car is stick, which makes it even more rare. About 65-70% of the 97-98's were auto so it is pretty hard to find one with a manual tranny. Beautiful car... I say go for it

Dayna: I have no idea if LEs have leather, but this one was cloth. And thanks for the offer, but I really prefer the 97-98 bodystyle. The 95-96 front end just doesn't appeal to me. I think it must be the roundess or some such...
J Spec Sileighty: Yeah, the manual seems to be rather rare. I searched autotrader.com for a manual 97-98 240 and this was the only one within 300 miles! The salesman said a lot of people had come to look at it, but only one so far seemed serious. I'm going to call back tomorrow to see whether or not that guy bought it. If it's still available, I might just have to throw them an offer :P.

Well, I don't know if this is an omen or what, but I found another green 240 almost identical to the one I missed out on, which you can view here. I'm going to call about it in the morning. Not crazy about those wheels, but it's got fewer miles and it's a 98...so, it's worth a shot, eh?

Well, the price was right, but the overall impression wasn't. I went and drove the car, and it just didn't feel right; I didn't feel completely at ease driving it. Plus, I can get at least $2-3k more selling the Land Rover privately than trading it in...so, I decided to wait. I'm sure somebody else will be able to enjoy those Kouki wheels, whatever that means

'98 LE comes standard with leather and cd, but you have to watch out. i'm looking for a 97-98 and maybe 50% of the autotrader ads out there say "240SX LE" but don't have the standard options on an LE, most are actually SEs but apparenly half the ppl are morons cause i know they didn't make that many LEs (certainly not 50% of all 97-98s).
