A CJ in the hands of the hopeless.

My friend's brother bought a '67 FB, of which someone had dropped a CJ 428 from 86 in it. Absoluteley fascinating to those who know and love the mustangs.

This guy doesn't do ANYTHING with the car (which is in ok-bad shape both mechanically and aesthetically)... he doesn't KNOW ANYTHING about the car (nor does his mechanic.... which makes it all the worse), and he doesn't even make an effort to restore it or mod it to its true potential (complains about money). It's been reduced to me and my friend trying to get the car in running shape (of which I can hardly know the true nature of this car... I only know the basics about these things)so HE can drive it. I just recently had to change the gaskets on the oilpan/splashgaurd b/c it was leaking like a civil war wound. I find it ironic that I work on this beauty and I'll never get to drive it.

Oh yeah, the mechanic wanted to take out the Performance cams out and put in "more reliable" cams. Sounds like a bag of Schmidt to me. But this guy trusts a coverall more than me. Go figure.

So here's the question, should this guy even be allowed to have this car? It's like giving your mom a ferarri and then all she does is drive it to the grocery store and complain when the "engine is loud getting on the freeway". It makes my blood boil, how about yours?

.

That sucks but perhaps you should ask to buy it from him. Maybe he'll agree to that since you're doing all the work.

Yes, it does make my blood boil, maybe you should try knocking him unconscious, and then stealing the car?
