About the street racing stuff... check my signature.
21 years old and I've never EVER raced illegally... I live about 15 minutes from one of the biggest drag strips in Texas (in Ennis, TX) and I go there on Friday nights if I feel a bit feisty ... Hard to believe? Ah well... will see you at the tracks...
You dont say? I would take the offer but I still dont want to run it yet. Ennis is most likely 45-60mins from me. Once I feel comfortable with my car well see what happens. Maybe one day we can schedule a race there.
BTW, How much does it cost to race there?

Is frickin' rediculous... like $18 for the night (and the cops wonder why so many people race illegally), but that's as many runs as you can get in before 2am (I think it goes that late... can't really remember... it's been a while). Only deal is, your car has to be a legal street car, no trailer cars, no 'build and race for the night' cars.. have to have proof of insurance, up to date inspection sticker, registration, ect...

I don't race my 98 Civic anymore, since this is my getting to and from work car... but once I get my Sedan built and ready, I'll run a few times.... of course, it's going to take me forever (expecting a 2 year project here).... but it will be worth it.

Dont the cops wait on the freeway, coming back from Ennis to pull over potential racers coming from the strip? Seems kinda F'k up to me

Depends on which direction you're coming from... come from Dallas area then you gotta watch out for the Wilmer/Hutchens cops... they don't pull over just ricers... they pull over EVERYBODY... got to be doing speed limit through there.... and pretty much all the way until after Palmer. Then you're home free... coming from the south on i45 just have to watch out for a cop in the Rice area that likes to hide, and again pull over EVERYBODY.... then coming from the west, like from Waxahachie I'm told there's one cop in particular that likes to pull people over just to screw with them. He's probably the one that pulls over peoples with modded cars too, although I've never had experience with him personally.
Ennis city cops really don't give a crap anymore, because there are SOOOOOO many modified cars in that little town, they just seem to look the other way.

dude i wonder how the races are gonna be tomorrow or saturday, i think it will go one of two ways and i hope its the first, either there will be no cop problems because all of them will be out catching drunk drivers and shit cuz i read in the paper all CHP and city cops are on duty for the holiday weekend or there will be a fat bust because they know that there will probably be a big crowd for the holiday weekend and i will be fucked if i get caught, any peeps gonna say anything negative about that dont say it at all.

Im sure if you feel worried about it dont go out finding races or try to see if the 1/8th-1/4mi tracks are open ?

money runs? we dont have people racing for money here, maybe thats more around the big cities i think thats a good thing though because people get more serious and retaliate when they lose their money in a race, shit people already get too serious around here when they just race for kicks.
