I think those are F-series engines, and although I still see a few 86-89 Accords on the road and some with 300K+ miles on them, I hear they are some of the worst motors Honda ever made (aside from the SOHC B20 in the late 80's Preludes
)You can get a D-series motor swap: ZC - 130hp JDM 88-91 CRX Si d16z6 - 125hp VTEC from a 92-95 Civic d16y8 - 127hp VTEC from a 96-00 Civic Or you can get a B-series motor swap These require lots more work than a d-series swap however: b16a - 160hp JDM 88-91 Civic Si-R b18b&1 - 130-140hp - US 90-93 Integra b18b1 - 142hp - US 94-2001 Integra b17 - 160hp - US 92-93 Integra GSR b18c1 - 170hp - US94-2001 Integra GSR b18c5 - 210hp - 94-2001 Integra Type-R Or you can throw VTEC heads on non-VTEC b20 blocks from CRVs, or VTEC heads on non-VTEC Integra motors, etc...etc... My list above is by no means exclusive or complete...it is just the ones I thought about while typing. Anything is possible--it is all about the Benjamins ![]() They key to what fits is more about the engine series, as opposed to which car it came out of (i.e. coupe, SOHC/DOHC, etc, etc.) Basically what fits in a 4G Civic is a D-series motor (except for 86-89 Integra) or a B-series motor with aftermarket mounts. The 90-93 Accords used F-Series engines too...for a 2.2 liter, 125 HP isn't much but it seems decent. Has a nice electric-car type whirr instead of an exhaust rumble

yea but the 90-93 accord f series engines are a lot better than the 89 and older accords ... one of my dads business associates has a 91 SE (EX with leather) with 320k on it and it still runs great!
