Thumbs up

Darn, 1/12th is very expensive here. If I ever get my hands on my one, I'll be sure to be capable to build one. Scary if you ask me. Just the thought of screwing a kit of this price...ouch
But you have pulled it off and very well done!

And I take it that you are a formula1 fan too.
Will look out for those kits in your stocks.

Great job Deejay27!

Great model.

I have also the Ferrari in 1/12 but not the clear version. It's also a great model with the metal wishbones.

Makes me want to start working on my 1/12th Ferrari F190 and my 1/2th Protar Ferrari 126C2.

Looks great

How did you go joining the top part of the monocoque just in front of the cockpit? I can't see a join there at all.

Where did you get the clear view Ferrari 641/2? There pretty expensive aren't they?

There is a joint there but it's covered by the red and white strip decal. I got a killer deal on the clear view Ferrari! I bought it on Ebay for $115 US dollars shipped.

From the looks of your work you have some serious modelling skills...I highly doubt if you'll screw up a 1/12th kit if I can get the results that I did. Try looking on Ebay....that's where I got both my 1/12th kits. If you look long enough you'll eventually bump into a good deal. Yeh, I really dig the F-1 cars but I think I will build a street car after I'm done with the McLaren Mp4/7....want to change things up little. I find myself wanting to build so much since the start of this hobby....everything is so eye catching to me....especially the 1/32 fighter jets!
Veyron
What kit is that in the first pic in your "current projects?" It looks awesome!

Deejay27, hey thanks for those nice comments

Well, I did checked ebay out. I just cant find myself willing to spend so much on a kit. I know I would someday when I retire and have loads of cash hehe. For now, have to stick to 1/20, 24 kits.

BTW, I am was into aircrafts, carriers and battleships before my friend got me interested in cars. Gotta luv them because the level of modifications that you can do with it is massive. Only depends on your imagination.

Anyways, cant wait for next weekend when the Nurburgring circuit will host the european F1.....wooohooo!

Re: 1/12th Renault F-1 Completed!!! (56K users Beware)

That is some work you did Deejay27...GREAT WORK MANZ!

Anyway, on your progress thread for this kit you mentioned that you use bare metal foil on the below pic...where do you get the BMF from and what is it? and how do you glue it to the kit?

Ktan.....I purchased the BMF at a local hobby shop. It is just a very thin aluminum type film that comes in different finishes (chrome, aluminum, etc.). It comes in sheets with an adhesive backing....just like a sticker. To apply it, all you have to do is cut it to the appropriate size, peel off the backing and "stick it" to a starting point, use a q-tip (that's what I use) to slowly and carefully apply/stick the rest of it on the part trying to avoid the build up of air bubbles underneath the foil. Use a dulled out toothpick to get the foil into the edges (a sharp toothpick will just rip it...I found that out the hard way)and then trim off the edges with a sharp hobby knife. If you screw up like I did....simply tear it off and re-apply with a new piece of BMF. If you can't find them at your local hobby shop then check out the following link....you can order direct and you'll also get additional info there on the product http://www.bare-metal.com/

Ahhhh...thank you very much Deejay27 for your fast reply. I'll try to source for this BMF in Singapore first before sourcing overseas. Thank you very much again.
